PARTICIPATING IN A RESEARCH STUDY
Contacted for a Research Study?
We believe the best way to figure out what people want is to ask them. If you choose to participate in one of our research studies, we will ask about your thoughts, opinions and preferences. We will never try to sell you something or ask for sensitive information like your bank account or social security number. Remember, your survey participation is voluntary, so if you’re ever asked a question you’re not comfortable responding to or not able to answer, just say so. And if you do not wish to participate in the research, tell us and we will honor your request.
Scheduling an Interview
If you’ve been selected for a research study, please follow the details in your invitation email. If you were contacted for an online study you can reach out to CollegeSurvey@artsci.com. If you were contacted for a telephone survey you can call WBA Research at 1-800-383-2324 to schedule.
What Do Students Say About Our Research?
At the end of some projects we ask for optional feedback about the survey-taking experience. Here is what we’ve heard from participants:
84% rate their survey experience 8 to 10 (on a 10-point scale where 10 = ‘enjoyed taking the survey a lot’)
99% would choose to take the survey again
60% say the compensation amount they received was more than fair
52% google Art & Science Group or the Center for Student Opinion Research before starting the survey
Some common comments participants have shared with us are:
“The survey brought certain aspects of my college decision to my attention and that was very helpful.”
“I enjoyed participating [in this survey] because of the interesting topics and relevant questions.”
“The survey was current and relatable to many future college students' concerns about the upcoming year.”
“It was nice to think about how students opinions about their education might potentially matter or make a difference.”
“It made me feel like I was being heard and my opinions matter”
Do Not Call Registry
We are market researchers, not telemarketers. The National Do Not Call Registry applies to telemarketing companies. Congress recognized that it is important for the entire public to be able to express their opinions and installed an exemption to the National Do Not Call Registry for research purposes. This means we might call you even if you have registered with the National Do Not Call Registry; however, if you tell us you do not wish to participate in the research, we will not contact you again.
Ethics & Privacy Policy
The Center for Student Opinion Research adheres strictly to the code of professional ethics of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). All data and information gathered from interviews with individuals is kept strictly confidential and only reported in the aggregate, combined with the responses from other respondents, so that each individual participant’s responses remain anonymous.
Contact information for participants is only used for research purposes and will not be sold, leased or given to any third-party organizations for any purpose at all. Participants will not be contacted for any reason outside of the scope of the market research project and we will only retain the contact information through the completion of the project. We treat all respondent contact information as highly sensitive and confidential data secured behind multiple levels of protection.
